About Me

I was born into an Air Force family and raised by educators, so service, learning, and community were part of my life from the very beginning. I spent most of my childhood living overseas, including my middle and high school years in the Philippines. Growing up in military communities around the world shaped my perspective early and taught me to recognize the importance of foundation and connection within a community, something I found when I eventually made Fort Mill my home.

Upon graduation from High School, I returned to the United States for college and later, obtained a law degree at Western New England College School of Law.  My passion for helping people within the criminal justice system was ignited after experiences working as an Assistant District Attorney and then later as an Assistant Solicitor for the Fifth and Sixteenth Circuit Solicitors Offices.  For over twenty-five years, I have been honored to work for two different Solicitors and to be entrusted by the people – many of whom meet me at the lowest point in their lives. Core to my belief is identifying issues and finding solutions.  During my tenure, I helped build the Domestic Violence Unit implementing policies and practices to combat intimate partner violence, collaborated with community partners to establish intervention programs, and helped establish protocols that enhanced community responses.

My commitment to service extends beyond the courtroom. I have had the privilege of serving as President of the York County Bar Association and am entrusted to be the President-Elect of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association. I am also a founding member of Gregory-Hayes Inn of Court and continue to serve in an executive position.  I serve on the board of Her Place, supporting women in our community and am active in Grace Presbyterian Church. In 2023, I was selected as the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association Emerging Leader and attended Leadership South Carolina the following year.

Reflecting on my time in Fort Mill, I cannot help but mention some of my most rewarding time spent here has been coaching youth sports.  I cherish the relationships that developed on and off the field and continue to volunteer with Fort Mill parks and recreation.  I am also a big proponent of public education and sit on the Sugar Creek Elementary School’s School Improvement Council and volunteer when opportunity arises.

Most importantly, I am a mom of two daughters who are growing up right here in Fort Mill. Like so many families in our community, we balance school, sports, church, and service, and I’m invested every day in making sure Fort Mill remains a safe, welcoming, and thriving place for families like ours.

Fort Mill isn’t just where my family lives, it’s where we serve, volunteer, and put down roots. It’s home. That’s what drives my commitment to this community and its future.
